A DevOps Engineer at IDI is a member of an agile development team and is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of IDI’s enterprise DevOps automation and cloud infrastructure solutions. This position will directly participate in initiatives for automation across application and physical infrastructure, service delivery, and enhancing the capabilities around IDI’s end-to-end application delivery toolchain and cloud platforms. Cloud and on-premise hybrid solution design, architecture, automation, and documentation will be key deliverables of individuals in this role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, support, and maintain CI/CD and cloud platform solutions that will be secure, reliable, and scalable
  • Promote DevSecOps and infrastructure-as-code principles
  • Develop new capabilities and provide consulting and process governance for build, release, and general automation pipelines
  • Serve as a resource for IT and software development teams in identifying and creating solutions to meet their end-to-end needs
  • Audit and recommend changes to DevOps systems for process improvement, consistency, and efficiency
  • Help to foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and open communication
  • Assist the team in creating solutions that are easily deployed and with high-quality
  • Participate in collaborative design discussions as part of translating business or technical requirements into working solutions
  • Frequent coordination with IT, Product, Security and other business teams
  • Create modern, testable, and maintainable code
  • Contribute to estimation of team-level work items
  • Provide timely status on project work and keep tasks updated with completed hours and hours remaining
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance and support as applicable
  • Uphold company policies and procedures
  • Perform additional related responsibilities as requested

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and/or 2-4 years of relevant experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for collaborative innovation and continuous learning
  • Experience with IT operations and/or security, networking, or server/cloud infrastructures
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery tools
  • Intermediate understanding of required programming languages (PowerShell, C#, SQL, HTML, JavaScript)
  • Experience with Microsoft platforms and development tools is preferred
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms, and how to apply them
  • Experience with design/development of SQL relational database systems
  • Understanding of basic agile software development practices
  • Excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal, written, and listening skills
